Job Description of Lecturer

Overview

You should be able to plan and prepare your lectures on time. Besides, you should be able to deliver your lectures in a way that encourages in-depth learning. In addition, you should gather reference materials to aid research studies.

Apart from your teaching duties, you should be able to mentor students and supervise their projects. You will be required to attend workshops and seminars, both as a participant and speaker. Developing a curriculum and improving learning methods are also your responsibilities.

You should be assigning projects as well as tasks to students and grading the same. Besides offering teaching help, you should be able to support students morally. You will be responsible for building a positive classroom environment at all times.

  • Collaborating with other lecturers and staff members to develop and improve teaching methods

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject
  • A postgraduate degree or a Ph.D. is preferred
  • Previous work experiences in the Education industry like high school or college
  • Expertise in your subject area
  • Knowledge of educational policies and teaching principles
  • Excellent teaching skills
  • Strong research and presentation skills
  • Excellent command of the language
  • Ability to maintain calm composure in stressful situations
  • Willingness to learn and upgrade skills
